Prices at Burger King move store by store most weeks. Once in a while a price moves everywhere at once — and in the November 1-4, 2026 collection round, the $3.99 Double Cheeseburger did exactly that.
+$1.00
The Double Cheeseburger at Burger King went up from $3.99 to $4.99 — 25% — at 67 stores, with every store in the event now charging $4.99. Three of the Burger King stores:
20610 Bear Valley Road, Apple Valley, CA — $4.99
23125 Hemlock Avenue, Moreno Valley, CA — $4.99
19640 Nordhoff St, Northridge, CA — $4.99
One price, everywhere, at once
Burger King sells the Double Cheeseburger under several listings — sizes and styles of the same item. In this round every one of those listings left $3.99. A change that size, landing on the same days across 67 stores, is a menu decision, not franchisees drifting: it is the old price disappearing as a tier.

How this was computed, and what we did not publish. Each store's price is read from the chain's own ordering system on a weekly rotation; a change is a store whose price for the same item differs from its previous recorded price. This story only counts events that clear a strict gate: the same item moving from the same old price to the same new price, by at least $1.00, at 40 or more stores, with both prices plausible against the item's national typical. Variants of one item — the sizes and styles above — are reported as the single event they are. This caution is not hypothetical this week: McDonald's prices were re-collected through a new route on November 3-4, and its recorded prices shifted — thousands of small rises of 10 to 30 cents that belong to the collection change, not to McDonald's menus. A raw count would have published the rewiring as a price rise. Raw counts of stores raising or cutting prices are not published: when a chain's recorded prices shift in bulk for reasons that may sit in collection rather than in the restaurants, a count would measure the shift, not the chains.
