How this was computed. Prices are the current price state: each store's price as read from the chain's own ordering system, refreshed weekly. A store's price counts only inside a sanity band around the item's national typical (half to 1.75 times), which drops placeholder and mis-listed prices no customer could actually pay. One price point was excluded before ranking: a $3.99 Whopper reading that appears at 262 stores, 261 of them priced in a single day's collection (November 4, 2026) — the signature of a collection artifact, not a price anyone could pay.
